Mehalah Ray plays The Bodega in Nottingham, Saturday March 10th
Had a wonderful evening playing the Leeds College of Music Crosswire event, thanks to the organisers at LCoM for inviting me! My sound is evolving and the back line is growing, looking forward to introducing some new faces in the new year!
Great start to gigging in Leeds. So excited to be creating a bigger sound and playing to new audiences! Here's a photo from last night at Old Bar, thanks to Ishaan for amazing work on the cajon!
I had a great time playing the first ever Haze Sessions at The Passenger Shed in Bristol. The event was hosted by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens on behalf of Thatchers Cider. The staging, sound, lighting and visuals were totally on point with amazing hospitality from the Thatchers crew backstage.
Bristol is a really vibrant city and I had time to take in some of the sights down ‘By The River!’ before my sound check, grabbing some delicious food at The Canteen music venue in the Stokes Croft district, against a backdrop of Banksy murals, and independent galleries and shops. There’s a real feel of counterculture going on, looking forward to gigging here again in the future.
If you're in Bristol on Friday 22nd July I'd love to see you at The Haze Sessions, a night of live music hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens on behalf of Thatchers Cider. Doors open 6.30pm til midnight, my set is at 21.35pm Click here for a chance to win free tickets!
I’ve made it to the longlist for Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2016. My thanks to When The Gramophone Rings for picking out The False from many thousands of entries, and for reviewing it as “A fantastically dreamy, woozy folk-pop song that builds and builds. Absolutely gorgeous”
